Don't delegate. Pass.

I've always had an issue with the concept of delegating. It seemed lazy. Someone couldn't do something, so they had to pass it off? They didn't have time for it? They're too important for it? What gives.

Why can we just call it passing, like a basketball on a court. It takes both communicating, recognizing the situation at play and that the ball will go further in someone else's hands. Whether that's because of a skill set or the constraints of surroundings. Delegating seems like it can only happen in a hierarchy of management, seeming unequal and inefficient among the team.

I think horizontal is respectful, bi-directionally aware, and more effective by default.
